LG CNS will work with Microsoft to develop digital workplace solutions for business innovation.

LG CNS announced on June 17 that it has signed a strategic partnership (MOU) with Microsoft for digital transformation cooperation, which includes the development of next-generation business environment innovation solutions and cloud-based digital technologies and solutions.

The two companies plan to begin the development of next-generation business innovation solutions in the second half of this year by combining LG CNS's IT system construction and operation know-how with Microsoft's business collaboration solution capability and expertise in cloud.

The two companies will combine LG CNS’ G-Portal, a groupware solution, and Cloud PC, a cloud-based desktop virtualization environment, with Microsoft's business collaboration platforms such as Windows 10 and Office 365. They will provide business innovation services such as e-mail, messenger function, multi-party video conferencing and document co-editing.

After applying these solutions first to LG CNS, the two companies plan to cooperate to sell them to domestic companies, including LG affiliates, and Asian companies.

The two companies will jointly conduct training programs to foster experts in digital new technologies such as cloud and collaboration platforms. LG CNS plans to foster about 500 digital solution experts by next year. To this end, it will build a training system that includes cloud data migration, training of experts for open source platforms such as Kubernetes, and a training and certification program for engineers of six major IT areas, including app development and independent software vendors, cloud platform and infrastructure, data management and analysis, business application, mobility, productivity.

The two companies also agreed to collaborate on cloud-based digital new technologies and solutions to meet companies’ digital transformation needs. In particular, they plan to apply new digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and the digital twin to business areas such as smart factory and smart city as well as financial and public businesses to jointly respond to the digital transformation market.
